Personal Bio
I am Arthur, photographer and owner of Arthur Korbiel Photography. I was introduced to photography in 1996, during a communications class in high school. I remember running around, taking photos, and developing the film in the dark room (Yes, you heard me correctly. Digital was very rare back then!) I even remember taking photos of the photos in Sports Illustrated, and could only imagine how cool it would be to take photos of real life events. Since that time, my love for taking photos has grown exponentially.
My career began in 2009 when I headed west to Whistler, BC for a photography job on Whistler Blackcomb mountain. At the same time I was able to land a job with the 2010 Olympics, which gained me access to many sporting events and venues. Camera + Olympics = Experience of a Lifetime!
Upon returning back to London, Ontario, I was asked, by friends, to photograph their weddings. I then worked as a second photographer for a local wedding photographer to further hone my skills. I have enrolled myself in many educational courses and workshop on wedding & event photography so that I could gain more knowledge. In 2012, I began my wedding photography business. I am also a member of the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International).
Beyond photography, I'm influenced and supported by my lovely wife, Jessica (my assistant) - also a certified wedding planner. While working in my office, I am kept company by our super friendly and loving Havanese dog, Whistler! Just recently, in April 2014, we were blessed with a healthy baby boy, Hudson, who brings so much joy to our lives! We love the simple things in life - traveling, the outdoors, walks with the dog, and spending time with family. I have a love for travel, photography, and sports.
